Cathy and Roger live in Florida and were
planning a large wedding party in North Yorkshire when they contacted me for
help.
The
sun shone brilliantly all weekend on their celebrations which included both
families and lots of friends from both sides of The Atlantic.
Some churches still have the tradition of
tying the lichgate up whilst the ceremony is taking place – it only being
opened once local children have been given some money. Not only was the
church gate tied, but also the road bridge into Dalton village. Luckily
Cathy and Roger were aware of the traditions and had lots of change, in a
special wedding purse, to “buy their freedom” out of church and through
Dalton. |
