Not many girls have the chance, as Catherine did, of their mother conducting their wedding service – I am not sure who was the most nervous, Catherine or her mum.

Catherine and Alan wanted an afternoon tea reception, with lots of flowers, pretty cake stands, lace, champagne, tea and delightful food. It meant Catherine buying 20 cake stands but Alan told me that Catherine said repeatedly everything was just perfect so I am sure it was worth it.

The afternoon tea was followed by a ceilidh and late into the evening bacon sandwiches were served; a complete change of atmosphere from the afternoon.

 Well done Heather, the ceremony was excellent.
